A Year of Home Runs by Eric Adsit (03:52)
Paddling during a global pandemic gets complicated. With a successful launch of NRS's My Home Run series, I had big plans to explore other people's Home Runs in the mid-atlantic and southeast, but the sudden and swift arrival of the Covid-19 Pandemic prevented responsible travel. I found solace and hope in my own Home Runs throughout northern New York. This is a Year of Home Runs.

Earning a River by Jacob Kastrup Haagensen (40:48)
Earning a River is a film that invited you to participate. We follow six friends on a journey to paddle the beautiful Kaitum River in Swedish Lapland. We learned about their different reactions to sudden bad weather, experienced the group dynamics evolve, and join in on the warm humor as they travel toward their goal. And most importantly, that it’s not always the easiest way that is the most rewarding. Like the protagonist, making this film was also not about finding the easiest way to the goal. The film is made with no budget in the narrow gaps between everyday life with work, parenthood and house renovations. A process that took two years to complete. The result is a warm and raw film about the lure of nature and friendship in the outdoor world. The film premiered at the Nordic Adventure Film Festival 2020 in Copenhagen, Denmark, and was rewarded with the prestigious Best Danish Film of the Year award. Sponsored by Alpacka Raft and Aqua-Bound.

And then all of a sudden, they were just gone.” In the midst of the extreme sports craze of the 90s, squirtboating was the cutting edge of whitewater kayaking. But as the sport faded into obscurity, what happened to all those people?
The Tears of Shiva by Mikel Sarasola (31:20)
Change is part and parcel of development and Nepal is undergoing a major transformation. Using water resources to generate energy is one of its pillars for the future, even if this means paying too high a price. Four kayakers set out to descend the fierce waters of the Karnali, as part of an expedition to one of the country's most remote and extreme rivers, with the intention of learning and enjoying the hidden secrets of this sacred river, before the lack of human consciousness destroys them forever.

Cullasaja by Sarah Ruhlen (09:27)
The Cullasaja will always be a special place to me. It's this little slice of Western North Carolina that feels unreal. Big waterfalls, gorged out rapids, and steep walls all mesh together to form this magical stretch of water. As I'm currently unable to do a ton of walking, I didn't film a lot of the video in here. The guys were nice enough to give me some really great gopro footie and to take one of my cameras into the lower with them. So, here's the Cullasja, enjoy. The first few minutes are the Lower, then followed by some of the rapids on the roadside section, with the last few minutes being a pin/recovery from three different points of view. Props to these guys for good communication and a quick response. Paddlers: Isaac Hull, Nick Czapla, Bernie Engelman, Patrick Sheehan, Joe Todd, Corey Sheehan, Dane Jackson, Wyatt Doyle, Hunter Cooper, Erik Amason

Shattering space-time consciousness barriers to the deepest reaches where even light dares not travel.

A Love Story by Elena Wood (24:48)
Back in fall 2019, we set out on a 17-day backcountry canoe trip through Algonquin Park, Canada. The beauty of Ontario is tenfold during Fall. Although we knew there would be the added challenge of colder weather, we wanted to avoid the crowds of summer and the mosquitoes, have our choice of campsites, and see the change of the colours. We were not disappointed. This film is more than just an adventure, it's a love story.

Once the Chinese became aware of Ken Warren's plans to be the first to descend the river, they put together their own teams to challenge him.
